Hello Shanna, thanks for your delightful sense of humor, and making lemon drop cocktails out of the lemons life hands us (forget about the lemonade, in times of trouble I need something stronger and fortifying!) or maybe you stick to the lemonade because of the heat? Your doggie reminds me of my little rescue, Héloïse! Very cute!

The painting is astonishing! The palette, the canine and human expressions, I love everything about it! Get well soon, and you never know…the mountains might still happen another time! Didn’t your BFF have to cancel his tour as well because of your simultaneous Covid ?

BUMMER about your bike accident and catching the 'rona. Glad it hasn't been a serious case, but it's so sad about your missed trip. Stupid, stupid, virus.

I watched some of your older videos, and was amused to see that you sported a bob and bangs just like I did last time we spoke. Recently I got my hair cut shorter than yours (even in this blog post), to get rid of the last of the haircolor.

That painting is INCREDIBLE!

So sorry to hear about your getting covid, Shanna. No surprise that you handled it with equal parts grit and grace.

Your post has sent both me and David down rabbit holes: Capri bikes and Tania Rivilia--what a TALENT. Wow.

Hope you're feeling better. As always, looking forward to whatever you're putting out there.

Oh Shanna! So sorry to hear you got the dreaded 'C' the new C! Andrew told us all! I got it a couple of weeks ago and was fairly poorly with it! Tested negative 2 days before I was due to fly up to the Isle of Lewis! Had a great time, went to Hebcelt the music festival and toured Lewis and Harris! So you were going touring with Andrew to Germany and Austria?! Perhaps another time hopefully! He had it too didn't he? He was very poorly with his, everybody seems to be getting it! Take great care! Love the photo of Milo, bless him! Hugs xx

Oh no! I hope you continue to be on the mend from those awful experiences. So glad they were preceded by delightful ones!

Seems like we're all sweltering. In my little corner of NJ, we've in the 95 to 100+ degree temperatures the last few days and into the weekend. Nothing outdoors is pleasant, so I'll be inside working on a quilt for when it gets to 5 degrees outside.

I have one experience that I'd categorize as delightful and awful this week. I decided to hit pause on my final assignment for my MPA degree, which is a sizeable research paper that'll take upwards of 3 months to complete. So it's delightful that I am listening to what I need for my mental health (I just have too much going on at once to also take this on), but it's awful in that I'm not graduating with the rest of my cohort in September. I don't regret the decision, but I'm happy knowing that I'll have some semblance of a summer, and sad knowing that I'm not in the experience at the same time as my classmates. Alas, I'll finish...some day (needs to be by May 2023, so I know it will get done!).

Be well, my friend.

So sorry to hear of your misadventures. :(

Yes the heat was awful last week. We nicked 100 here in Porto for several days which is unheard of.

Back to the 60s and 70s this week, thank God! In fact it has been quite beautiful this week.

We went to the Continente Food Fest which was a blast and we happened to go on a cool day. Bonus!

Milo is adorable!

Take care, melhore rapidamente!

Well let's see. Next month I turn 60 but I swear I don't feel a day over 59. I'm a competitive golfer and have been on a winning streak, which is saying a lot because I mostly play against men. However, since my husband and I are committed to relocating to Portugal next year, I withdrew my club membership for 2023. We plan to arrive in June next year.

I had a fall which bruised my hip and am recovering this week. The heat hear in Arizona is averaging over 110 most days but I'm hoping Portugal doesn't have many days over 90, let alone 100 in Setubal. This year has had its difficulties so far but nothing we can't handle. We lost four friends to covid, so I'm glad to hear your case was mild.

On the upside, my daughter (from Texas) graced us with her presence a couple of times along with my grandkids, which are the joyful souls of heaven. While we've been talking about moving to Europe for awhile, it was this year we decided on Portugal and we are drawn to Setubal. I can't wait to watch my little Cali (chihuahua) play in paradise.

The two hardest things for us is the waiting to start as it feels like we selected Portugal years ago and learning Portuguese, which we've started. We have to imagine it's easier with the back and forth with the locals vs. on our own in the States. There is a lot to do between now and June but we look forward to meeting you and calling you neighbor!

Be well.

Sorry to hear about your experiences, both you and Andrew plans upset. Hopefully you will get to do something similar again soon. The plus for me having finished making frames for a summer art exhibition starting tomorow. The negative took way too long and many hours than it should. 2nd neg: up at 6:00 this morning to get the exhibition set up. The plus, its all done and ready by 1:00. Awards and advance viewing tonight, should be fun only feel too shattered to go. Duty calls, smile it will all be good. Ha! Life. Roll on the weekend. Take care of yourselves!

Love this friend! So good to see you.

Not sure how we remained Covid free through our trip. I think it was pure luck! 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s such a bummer you got sick.

We had such a lovely time with you! Sending hugs! ❤️😻
