wow, three years already?!
Great article! A lot of it resonates with me as well. TODAY is my one year anniversary here! I didn't realize we were 11 days apart (and 2 years!). This article was perfect timing for me to reflect. Obrigada.
Thank you for sharing your journey Shanna💕See you this fall hopefully.
Eu me mudei do Brazil para USA. I love USA, but I know that the Brazilian and Portuguese people are warm, helpful and cultured with art, architecture and history. They brought so many beautiful things to Brazil. May be I will join you, one of these days!!! Continue learning the language!!!
Where in Setubal - and are there lots of expats locally?
Well said Shanna! Parabéns on your arrival in Portugal anniversary!
We were just four months behind you and are still loving our life in Porto. It is now home for us too.
❤❤❤ You are such an inspiration, Shanna! You're not only living abroad, you're finding/creating community! That's a huge accomplishment.
Thank you for sharing your reflections. We're planning our move this year, and your reflections on the issues of the US ring true, and that sometimes living somewhere else is the right choice for our lives.
Lee Wee, there are 2 groups on FB, pls look out: 1) Americans and friends PT, 2) Women over 50 in PT, these are wonderful groups and you get a lot out of there
Interesting read. I'm considering moving to Portugal so I would love to hear from anyone who can share their experience. I'm a Chinese female from Southeast Asia. I'm in my 50s, know nobody from Portugal, love dogs, don't drive, am open minded and adaptable as I've travelled widely and lived in different countries for different time spans (UK, Canada, Germany (only 1 month), Thailand, Myanmar etc) How suitable would Portugal be for me?
What are the online courses you used to learn Portuguese?
They don’t have political extremists because they don’t have educational indoctrination like the us
