I can't comment on decision making, I'm a terrible example. I can spend months thinking about a minor decision and then make it in seconds without thinking.

I can say that I agree with the translation about Time Out. Like most visitors, I went when I first came to Portugal, a few years before moving. I went again a couple times and then found that I could get more interesting food for less in a more interesting and less chaotic setting.

Of course, then there is making the decision then reverse engineering the reasons and doubting yourself that you made the correct choice. No, I'd never do that either... :-/ Great read as always, Twin! x

I can never make my mind up which way to go! I go one way then the other! So indecisive and contrary! So sorry the terrible news from Ukraine is affecting you so badly, I feel the same! I keep seeing the pictures of the family that got caught up in an explosion whilst fleeing for their lives! Always the innocent and vulnerable who suffer! Gone are the days when leaders & generals were at the front of the attacking hoards, leading from the front!! No, safe and well away from the horrors of war! Cowards!! Rant over, yes, Shanna keep writing as you bring a lot of joy and peace to us all. I really enjoy your writings and outlook on life. Calming words and wonderful insights into your new life and adventures! So glad your mom is on the mend! Don't stop doing what you do and I look forward to your next installment of life: examined!! Take care xx

Getting a ship to land on the surface of the moon is a constant correction of trajectory. They fire then continue to adjust. So..get ready, fire…AIM! Your mind is there to protect you. It doesn’t know what is right or what is wrong it just knows from your experiences which can be misleading to the point of stopping you from doing that thing you really know in your gut is good. So listen to your gut it’s right more than wrong. My gut tells me I’m ready for Portugal. My mind tells me do more research. I bought tickets for late April. It takes guts to move forward.

Bingo this article is exactly where I sit. So many things on my plate to get there. And big decisions hanging out while the list is tackled.

I am better following my gut.
