Hi Shanna! So sorry to hear about your health issues! Had a few myself lately even though I've lost a lot of weight recently!! Still, it's a part of getting older I suppose! I don't blame you for worrying about travelling back to the US. There's way too much conspiracy theory rubbish being circulated, it's the same here in the UK! They feel as though they're being controlled but in fact the fact is, they are losing control which is quite different! I haven't experienced any negativity personally but I know people who have! I'm more worried about that than the virus itself! I'm waiting to hear about the booster jab and I shall definitely have it. People are scared of it making them ill for a short while but that's how vaccines work! That's the antibodies doing their stuff!! Kicking in and fighting off those pesky critters!! (That's a Looney Tunes cartoon, not sure which one!!). Anyway, you just keep yourself well and flourishing and I look forward to the next installment of your adventures! Hugs xxx
I am shocked that you express fear in returning to San Diego for a visit. We lived in Porto for 8 months at the beginning of the pandemic, and dreaded returning to San Francisco only because we would miss Porto so deeply. We all know that no place is perfect, but I really believe your fears just exacerbate the notion that the US is an unsafe place to be. I may be delusional, but our life here is also good, despite not finding the perfect pastel de nate! I hope your health improves and you are able to enjoy your visit with your American friends and family. Best wishes to you.

I do not envy you your trip back to the states. It would take more than an act of God to get me to go back, even to visit. You are correct, it is just too scary over there these days.
