I feel I’m in that space when I travel abroad—typically stating put in a new place for an extended period, rather than rushing to and fro. It’s being thrilled with ny surroundings and utterly anonymous at the same time.

Yes, love that word, too, and I find myself entering into that space, which is exciting. Also, are you familiar with Krista Tippett's podcast, On Being? There's a recent episode about borders as liminal spaces - a good listen. :)

I know what you mean about borders. We loved our time in Turkey, because the Greek Island of Kos was only a 20 minute ferry ride away. I'm looking forward to moving to the East Algarve because the Spanish border is right there. But that's Europe for you - so many options close by.

I read this Shanna, thinking again, this is me! I live in the in between, and I’ve not really thought of it that way. I love having deep conversations with strangers and I love being invisible (most of the time).

A friend of mine did her TedX talk on being liminal. It was extremely popular. So many struggle with trying to fit into a life they aren’t really meant to be in and know one tells you that you don’t have to do that! Those of us who make it, either had someone else give them permission (therefore less struggle) or they were eventually able to figure it out on their own.

Wonderful read, as a.ways! Obrigada 🙏🏻
